Accessibility
What has been done
- Every page can be read without JavaScript. No content depends on a script.
- Every page has a clear heading structure (h1, h2, h3).
- Every page opens with a “Skip to content” link.
- Every photograph has alternative text.
- Text contrast has been raised, and meaning is carried by words, not by colour alone.
- The menu works with a keyboard and with a screen reader.
- Click targets are sized at more than 44 pixels.
- Animation is disabled when “prefers-reduced-motion” is set.
- There is a print layout without the menu, the notice or the decoration.
Languages
The site is in English, with lang="en" on every page. Irish terms appear in the
text where they are printed on road signs, and they are explained.
Shape and colour
Colour is never the only carrier of meaning. Every sign and every road badge carries text or a symbol as well as a colour.
Limits
We cannot guarantee that everything works with every assistive technology. If you hit a problem, send a description to [email protected] and we will try to fix it.
Sending a report
A precise report is the most useful: the page, the device, the browser, and what does not work. Every report is answered.
