What is on this site
m5online is an information site about roads, motorways, tunnels, bridges and places to see in Ireland. Each note is written so that it stands on its own, and a table, a list or a diagram is added where it helps.
How a note is written
- A subject is chosen because there is a common question behind it: how to read a junction, how tolling works, what a particular sign means.
- The information is gathered from public sources: TII, local councils, toll operators, and the signs on the ground that cannot be seen from here.
- The text is written in English, and Irish terms are explained where they appear on signs.
- Every number and every name is checked. If something cannot be checked, it is not stated.
Limits
No prices, current tolls, opening times or payment deadlines are stated on the site. They change often and are published by the authority or the operator. Words such as “best”, “official” or “guaranteed” are not used except as a description of something written elsewhere.
No product, service or supplier is recommended. There is no affiliate link on the site.
Dates
Every note carries a publication date and an update date. The date is updated when the text changes or when new information is added. It is not changed to fix a small spelling mistake.
Photographs and illustrations
The photographs used on the site are stored locally in the images/photos/
folder. They show the kind of road, tunnel or bridge described, not a specific site, and not all
of them were taken in Ireland. Where exact detail matters, the sign on the ground or the
official source is the reference.
Corrections
If you see an error, send the page and the sentence to [email protected]. Every report is reviewed and, if it is right, the text is corrected and the page is given a new date.
Independence
m5online is not connected with TII, with local councils, with toll operators or with travel service providers. Official sources are referenced because the freshest information belongs to them, not as a sign of partnership.
